I think everyone remembers that first time. You know? That one nervous scoop, looking at the mound of green stuff thinking: Is this going to work? Well, I will tell you if you did it right, not only did it work, but, it whooped your butt. I don't mean it left you impaired. I am simply saying the first time you met the leaf, it most likely left a lasting impression on you.
My first time... I remember my first time better than my first time with anything or anyone (sorry Jazmine.) That sweet sunny day, on a uncomfortable street side bench. I was just watching the people do people things in the middle of town. I sat there for four hours. I was just watching. And, not like stalking, but, just watching.
The leaf. It isn't something that impairs you. There are way more things out there that will impair you worse. As a matter of fact. To much sugar. Go eat too much sugar, an you will be impaired more.
You see. If I decided to drink a couple shots and sit on a park bench, that isn't a good idea. It isn't anything like what I am talking about with our leaf. So, when people compare anything else to it, it is complete bull s---. There is no class for this leaf. It's in a league of it's own, and shouldn't be compared to anything. At all.
The reason why those first times are always so memorable, isn't because of the strength. The amount of one alkaloid versus the amount of another. That stuff is great for paper and for show. But, when you seriously break it down. There is no real reason why this leaf works so damn well.
The interdependent nature of each alkaloid is the beauty of the entirety. One alkaloid basically won't cut it. That's why the isolation of independent alkaloids doesn't work well in labs. Another amazing fact about this leaf, is that it has a self limiting, natural deterrent for abusers. So using more, won't necessarily do anything but make you sick.
The reason why this leaf works so well, isn't the amount of any one thing, in the leaf. The reason is sitting staring at this screen right now. It's you. Each person could potentially have a different outlook on specific strains and veins. There isn't a one size fits all truth. That isn't how this leaf works. So strength, in theory, is dependent on response. The response is something you can only find out through trial and error.
I can't say that certain alkaloids, aren't more of a big deal than others, in some instances. That would be a lie. There are some cases where certain alkaloids do matter more than others. But, I don't believe that is something we can judge through any lab analysis. If something works for you, it might not work for someone else. And, identifying certain alkaloids and barraging you receptors with one kind of alkaloid will eventually become counter productive. You will find out that you can pretty much ruin strains by over use.
The reason why I'm writing this article is to shed light on strain hopping, rotation, and its importance. There is a bigger issue of people buying a large amount of one strain and than burning out, on that strain . Burning it out, on there self. The reason why other strains work better than some has to do with response, not strength.
Now, I won't say certain alkaloids aren't good to have in high amounts. There is some evidence that mitragynine and 7-hydroxymitragynine are pretty important. But, that is not the end all, be all. As a matter of fact the rest of the alkaloids might be just as important, if not more, in some folks.
Those lab tests that people do are a marketing ploy. I am absolutely certain that the change in the strain profile can have JUST AS MUCH of an effect on someone, as something high in one or two alkaloids. As a certified K-head, I will tell you that a certain strain, or any strain can get old real quick. What that tells me, is that certain amounts aren't as important as the change in the overall alkaloid values. Changing the strain profile in your daily adventure with this leaf is very very important.
The proof that I come to the table with isn't solid and doesn't have research to back it up. As a matter of fact there is no research to back it up. But, there is very little research to back up anyone on this topic and the only research you will find, are private tests from people that want to sell you leaf.
The focus of one particular alkaloid shouldn't be that big of a deal. There are symbiotic. unknown reasons that are a way bigger deal. It's the entire strain profile that matters. It's why this leaf is so useful and, is the true key. Looking for the 'Premium Maeng Da' will get you lost in lies and buying someones hyped up, under performing south Asian miracle. The best thing you can do is pay a reasonable price for a good consistent leaf. A just continue buying different strains (We have 20 strains for $120 (1000g))
It's nice to get a quality leaf. And, I'm not saying that leafs with higher alkaloid counts don't matter. In fact they do matter. But overall, the don't matter as much when you are introducing new leafs to your routine. You might not know how much one leaf matters, because we don't know why one person responds to one thing, and, another doesn't respond at all. It is all trial and error!
What this points to is change. Change in the strains profile will bring upon efficiency. The amount doesnt matter as much as, the different percentages. Your not gonna know which ones matter until you know the matter. This will only get simpler with experience.
So, if you find just one strain that is awesome, and, you buy a ton of it, you will soon find out that you will burn out on that strain.
So when taking into consideration all the known reasons what makes this leaf tick. The best thing to do isn't find one super strong alkaloid and look for it. The most efficient way to stay above the average in effects, is switching strains. Over, and over.
The reason why stem & vein works. Isn't because of the amount of alkaloids in the plant. It's because the alkaloid profile is changed. And, you will naturally recognize that change and you will see a change in results. You then get better results with change than you do with amount. This is proven over and over again with my personal studies.
AND, if you have one great session because of an alkaloids strength. Well, that same strength will tend to dumb down your future in that alkaloid. Why on earth would you want to ruin future events by maxing out one certain alkaloid over another. The beauty in the plant is the interdependent nature of everything inside it. The beauty of this plant is how we react to it. So once again, the beauty of the plant, is really you!
